Dear Mercaz
Supporters, Alumni, and Friends:
We are excited to announce this
year’s Mercaz Friend’s giving campaign,
“Our Jewish Experience”.
At Mercaz High School, we
strive to provide an environment where teens can socialize with other Jewish
teens, while continuing their Jewish education after their Bar/Bat mitzvah.
Thank you to everyone who helped
make last year’s campaign a success! Our Mercaz board works hard to keep tuition
affordable; however, it is a reality that tuition barely covers the basics. We
depend on our annual giving campaign to provide additional funds needed to
improve and enrich our program and provide the most meaningful experience for
our students and their families.
Here are some examples of what we
were able to provide from last year’s campaign:
* Provided
materials for innovative hands-on courses without additional fees
* Retained experienced staff of
highly dedicated teachers
* Provided parenting programming
to help us better understand our teens
* Tuition stayed at current
levels
Mercaz has made a huge impact on
the teens we have served. Read what some of our recent graduates wrote about
their experience at Mercaz…
“Once
high school approached and I was out of Yavneh, Mercaz became the connection to
my friends from other schools and other people I don't normally get to see. I
am not going to lie, I did take some great classes as well that not only
contributed to my Jewish knowledge but also to my Jewish identity.”
Lainey Paul
“So here I am, doing the
right thing and graduating from Mercaz. Along the way Mercaz has been an
extremely fun time and I got a lot out of it. I kept many friends I wouldn't
have had I not gone to Mercaz. Mercaz has been a journey and I am just glad I
finished it.” Jeff Wolkoff
Through our giving campaign, you
have an opportunity to show your commitment to our school and to continuing
Jewish education.
In order to
sustain ourselves and improve our programming, we must depend on your
generosity. Please give
what you can to this worthy cause – the perpetuation of our vibrant heritage for
generations to come. As we teach our children…
“It is not
your duty to complete the work of perfecting the world…Neither are you free to
refrain from it…” Rabbi Tarfon, Pirkei Avot 2:16
